A Little Spring Cleaning

Yes, I am being dramatic, but I was on a high this morning where I really did feel like the best version of myself. You know those days when you just wake up in a good mood and you feel like you can do anything? That’s how this morning was. I drank my coffee in the quiet living room and then immediately began cleaning the kitchen from the night before while listening to smooth jazz before the rest of the house woke up. I felt productive and content, and found myself wanting to feel like this every morning when I first wake up.
Don’t you wish feelings like this would last forever?
Happy Friday, loves.
What are you up to this weekend? We are spending it cooking (a spring pasta tonight with chicken and asparagus in a lemon and garlic white wine sauce) and hanging with friends (popcorn and movie night tomorrow with Matt and Beau).
It’s finally supposed to be pretty after raining all week, which I am obviously loving for all our plants and grass, but not being able to do anything without getting muddy and wet has gotten old. I am all for cozy rainy weather, but I am ready for some green and sunshine.
Meanwhile, I am excited about the posts coming up next week on the blog! We’ll be sharing the new curtains we put up in our living room, what one of our children said a few weeks ago about having two dads, and the cutest kids pajamas.
Also, make sure your are subscribed to our Weekender Newsletter!! The next one goes out tonight. And we hope to see you this Sunday night for Vino & Vent! You can watch on Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok.
Have a good one! xoxoxo

Any fun plans this weekend? We’re spending it at the farm and “camping” in the tiny house. Matt and Beau came over tonight and PJ grilled cheeseburgers on the grill. We sipped on wine as we took a walk around the farm and it might have just been the most peaceful, relaxing night in recent memory. The weather cooperated and allowed for a huge fire, complete with s’mores and more wine ;).
I love nights like these, where you can feel and see a change in the air; in this case, spring is creeping in. It felt like a good way to kick off the weekend.
Hope you have a lovely weekend, friends! xoxo
Ramadan is the most sacred and spiritual time of the year for Muslims. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from food and water every day from dawn to sunset, giving them time to contemplate their relationship with God, to pray longer, tp increase their charity and generosity, and to study the Quran.

Coffee, the drink PJ and I most look forward to every morning and every afternoon for that warm, comforting pick-me-up, comes with a catch, apparently.
According to a recent article on The Conversation, they say:
“While it feels energising, this little caffeine intervention is more a loan of the awake feeling, rather than a creation of any new energy.
This is because the caffeine won’t bind forever, and the adenosine that it blocks doesn’t go away. So eventually the caffeine breaks down, lets go of the receptors and all that adenosine that has been waiting and building up latches on and the drowsy feeling comes back – sometimes all at once.
So, the debt you owe the caffeine always eventually needs to be repaid, and the only real way to repay it is to sleep.”
Fascinating! You can read the entire article here.
Today is Allan’s birthday!!!

How was your week? It rained all day, which felt surprisingly comforting and cozy. Luckily we’re supposed to have good weather tomorrow, which, thank goodness, because we’re celebrating our oldest turning 8! I can’t believe we already have an 8 year old. When our children came to us, Allan had just turned 4, so it’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that he’s already almost TEN.
We’re having a little party for him in the pavilion at our farm, and then tomorrow night I think we’re going to take them all to see the new Mario movie. Should be a fun weekend.
We hope you have a lovely weekend, too, friends!!

A great way to start off the weekend!
Both of our boys came home from school today and surprised us: They were both selected as Student of the Month (Allan in second grade, Riah in kindergarten)!! So beyond proud that I had to share here.
We knew Riah was yesterday because he came home with a certificate, but we had no idea Allan was also. And he didn’t either. He found out this morning when he got to school and was just as surprised as we were!!
They got to celebrate this morning with donuts and drinks as soon as they got to school. What little cuties.
Last night, we celebrated my little sister’s 29th birthday at my brother’s house on the river.
