Oh my goodness friends. You already know fall is our favorite season, but I think JD Candle Co. just made me love it even more. JD Candle Co. is a home-based craft business located on Long Island, NY. Their candles are “handcrafted and hand poured one at a time in small batches” and are made with 100% all natural soy wax, free of the use of petroleum wax, AKA paraffin.

They sent us 4 fall-scented candles and each one is giving me all the crunchy leaves, oversized sweaters, crisp air, and cozy autumn vibes that make this time of year the best. If fall had a smell, it would be these candles.

The best part? They’ve also given us a discount code to share with you! If you use code yall10, you’ll get 10% off your order! How sweet is that? We’ve had the pumpkin soufflé lit all day and our entire house smells so yummy. Up next will be the brown sugar & fig which smells so intoxicatingly good.

Thank you so much, Justin!! Head to JD Candle Co. to browse all of their delicious candles.

The 1st Presidential Debate of 2020 is Tonight- Here’s What You Need to Know

biden Trump.jpg

The 1st presidential debate of 2020 (out of three) is tonight between President Trump and Vice President Biden. Will you be watching? We plan to put the kiddos to bed, pop some popcorn, pour the wine, maybe fold the mounds of laundry I’ve let pile up this week, and watch these two face off. It’s exhilarating, and somewhat frightening, to think the election is a little over a month away (exactly 35 days!), isn’t it?

Below are some things to know ahead of tonight’s debate:

Time:

9p-10:30p ET

Where to watch:

The debate will air on all major networks, and you can stream it online here.

Moderator:

Fox News’ Chris Wallace

Topics:

  • The Trump and Biden Records

  • The Supreme Court

  • Covid-19

  • The Economy

  • Race and Violence in our Cities

  • The Integrity of the Election

Where:

Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Format:

Per CNN: “The candidates will not have opening statements, and Trump will receive the first question from the moderator. Each segment will last about 15 minutes, and the candidates will have two minutes to respond after the moderator opens each segment with a question. Wallace will then use the rest of the time in the segment to facilitate further discussion on the topic, according to the commission.”

Future Debates:

The next two debates for Biden and Trump are October 15 and 22, and Harris and Pence’s sole debate is next Wednesday, October 7.

A French Apartment with a Monochromatic Color Scheme

IMG_6490.jpeg

I can’t stop staring at pictures of this stunning monochromatic apartment in Lyon. The use of various shades of whites and creams mixed with browns and black is my love language. It’s home to designers Pierre Emmanuel Martin & Stéphane Garotin of Maison Hand, and makes me want to pack us all up and move (even if it’s just for a few months) to France immediately.

But only if we can live in an apartment that looks like this one, even though it doesn’t look very kid-friendly, does it?

Do You (or Your Significant Other) Snore?

A95300F2-9123-4EB7-8F5F-876B0F7260DD_Original.jpeg

The other morning when we were still in bed and had just woken up, PJ played a video (but didn’t show me what it was) of the most awful, terrible sound. It was of someone snoring in their sleep and it sounded like a slow, grumbly freight train that was about to be derailed. It hurt my ears.

As it turns out, the person snoring was me. I couldn’t believe it. I think I denied it for 5 minutes straight, but he assured me it was, in fact, me. He’s told me for the past 2 or 3 years that I snore, but he’s never captured it on camera before, so maybe a small part of me didn’t believe him (or didn’t want to). Now that I know, I’m on the search for ways to eliminate my snoring before it becomes unbearable. Or maybe it already has. I woke up to an empty bed a few months ago because PJ had to go sleep on the couch in the middle of the night because my snoring kept WAKING HIM UP. Isn’t that awful?

I’ll keep you updated if I find anything useful! In the meantime, I’m so curious: do you or your significant other snore, too?

Kids Saying Goodbye to RBG

IMG_6445.jpeg

How heartbreaking and beautiful are these photos of children paying their respects to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg as she was being laid in honor at the Capitol? They give me chills. What an amazing, selfless woman. Her death is being felt by us all.

Shoes to Consider for Winter: UGG Boots

44ba2802f15215b4d949fe25a7844ef1.jpg

I’ve never been a huge fan of UGG Boots, but when I came across these Neumal Boots they kind of stopped me in my tracks and made me reconsider. How fun do they look? I’ve heard UGGs are extremely warm and comfy, which will be so nice once it starts getting colder.

Also loving these waterproof ones and the Campout Low shoe. Adding all to my wishlist immediately. PJ, are you taking notes?

Lifetime’s First LGBTQ+ Holiday Movie!

IMG_6183.jpeg

Hooray for diversity! And inclusion!

Lifetime just announced that real-life married couple Blake Lee and Ben Lewis will star in the network’s first film to feature an LGBTQ+ romance as the main storyline.

The film, called “The Christmas Set Up”, according to NBC News, centers around “Hugo (Lewis), a New York lawyer, and his best friend, Madelyn (Wong), as Hugo spends the holidays in Milwaukee with his matchmaking mom, Kate (Drescher). When Kate sets Hugo up with Patrick (Lee), Hugo’s high school friend and secret crush, there is an undeniable, mutual attraction between the two. But when Hugo receives news of a job promotion in London, he must choose what is most important to him.”

To be honest, I’ve never actually seen a Lifetime holiday movie before (my mother in law loves them), but I will definitely be watching this one. And the fact that the main characters are married in real life makes it 1000 times cuter.

There hasn’t been a release date announced yet, but it will air during the network’s annual “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime”. Can’t wait!!
